A security audit measures your existing security program against recognized best practices and identifies where the gaps are before they become incidents. Nighthawk Alliance LLC is a veteran-owned, Texas-based consulting firm that performs security audits nationwide — we travel to your site anywhere in the U.S.

What a security audit covers
We evaluate the security program you already have in place — the people, policies, and physical measures protecting your facility — and document how each holds up against industry best practices. A typical engagement reviews:
- Policies and procedures — post orders, use-of-force policy, emergency and incident-response plans, visitor and access-control procedures, and how consistently they are followed in practice.
- Staffing and program management — coverage levels, post coverage vs. documented need, supervision, licensing and credentialing status, training records, and vendor/contract oversight.
- Physical security measures — access control, locks and key control, perimeter and lighting, CCTV coverage and retention, alarm and intrusion systems, signage, and control-room operations.
- Documentation and records — incident logs, patrol/activity records, and whether reporting supports accountability and continuous improvement.
- Compliance gaps — how your program lines up with applicable regulatory, licensing, and industry-standard requirements, with gaps flagged for remediation.
The deliverable: a findings report
Every audit concludes with a written findings report you can act on and share with leadership. The report documents what we reviewed, what is working, the gaps we identified, and prioritized recommendations — so you have a clear, defensible record of your program’s current state and a roadmap for improvement.
Audit vs. risk assessment — the difference matters
These two services are often confused, and they answer different questions:
- A security audit reviews what you already have. It measures your existing program, policies, staffing, and physical controls against best practices and compliance requirements, and reports where you fall short.
- A risk assessment looks outward at threats. It analyzes the threats and vulnerabilities your organization faces and the potential impact, to inform what protections you should put in place.
Many clients benefit from both. If you are not sure which fits your situation, tell us your goals and we will point you to the right starting point.
Why Nighthawk Alliance
Our consulting draws on real-world security operations experience across multi-purpose arenas, houses of worship, warehouses, and Fortune 500 companies, as well as U.S. Secret Service dignitary-event coordination. We are a veteran-owned firm featured in a 2023 Fort Worth Report article.
Please note: Nighthawk Alliance provides security training and consulting only. We do not provide guard, patrol, or security-staffing services — an audit gives you an independent, objective review of the program and vendors you already use.
FAQ
Do you perform security audits outside of Texas?

What is the difference between a security audit and a risk assessment?
An audit reviews your existing security program, policies, staffing, and physical measures against best practices and compliance requirements. A risk assessment analyzes the threats and vulnerabilities your organization faces to determine what protections you should have. We offer both and can help you decide which you need first.
What do we receive at the end of the audit?
A written findings report documenting what was reviewed, the gaps identified, and prioritized recommendations you can share with leadership and use as a remediation roadmap.
What types of facilities do you audit?
We have worked with venues such as arenas, houses of worship, warehouses, and corporate/Fortune 500 environments. If your facility type is not listed, contact us to discuss whether an audit is a fit.
How much does a security audit cost?
Pricing depends on facility size, scope, and travel. Contact us with your details and we will provide a quote. [Owner to confirm pricing model.]
